About Chadar Trek
A legendary winter trek across the frozen Zanskar river, walking on a sheet of ice through gorges and waterfalls — one of the most extreme treks on earth.
History & significance
For centuries the frozen 'chadar' (sheet) was the only winter route between Zanskar villages and the outside world, used by traders, students and the sick. It is now a famous adventure trek run between mid-January and late February.
