About Sangam (Indus–Zanskar Confluence)

History & significance
For centuries this junction has been a sacred landmark for the Buddhist communities of Ladakh and a navigation point for traders moving between the Indus and Zanskar valleys. Today it is also the launch point for white-water rafting expeditions on the Zanskar.
