About Pangong Lake
A surreal high-altitude endorheic lake that changes colour through the day — from sapphire to turquoise to deep blue — stretching from India into Tibet at over 4,350 metres.
History & significance
Pangong Tso has long been a strategic and spiritual landmark, sitting along the Line of Actual Control with China. Roughly 60% of its 134 km length lies in Tibet. It became a tourist phenomenon after featuring in Bollywood films.
